Let' support for Earth Hour!!!
地球現在正面對巨大的環保問題, 希望各位讀者好友可以用實際行動去救救地球!
Earth Hour 2011 will take place on Saturday 26 March at 8:30pm (local time). It is more than switching off lights for one hour once a year, but an event to raise public awareness of global sustainability.
Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia and became a global movement across 128 countries and 4000 cities in 2010. Over 2.5 million people, 2500 companies and buildings, 230 schools and all universities in Hong Kong actively participated in Earth Hour 2010.
According to WWF’s newly-released Hong Kong Ecological Footprint report 2010, Hong Kong people live far beyond the Earth’s limit and if everyone in the world lived a similar lifestyle to that of Hong Kong people, we would need the equivalent resources of 2.2 Earths to support our needs. Therefore, for a living planet, we must reduce our reliance on the Earth’s limited natural resources through wise consumption.
Earth Hour is the biggest global environment campaign calling every individual, business and community around the world to take action and go for a sustainable future. You can help spread the news of Earth Hour and bring the public to join the global force.
